What subscription plans do you offer?
Monthly Subscription: It costs £12.99 per month. You'll be billed for one month at a time on the same day you subscribed, just like a Netflix subscription.
3-Month Subscription: Priced at £10.99 per month, and you'll be billed upfront for three months. After the initial period, you'll be charged again for another three months on the same signup date.
Academic Year Subscription: Our best offer, priced at £8.99 per month. This subscription grants you access for the entire academic year, until June after the English GCSEs are completed. It's a great deal, but this is only running for a limited time! You will pay a one off fee for the year up front and get access until the GCSE’s finish.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes! If you cancel before your renewal date of signing up, you will be able to cancel the payment and no further payments will come out.

How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to your dashboard, scroll to the bottom and press ‘cancel subscription’.
You will be asked for reasons as to why you’re cancelling, the more information you provide us, the more we can improve the service.

Can I change my subscription plan?
Yes! All you have to do is go on your dashboard, scroll to the bottom and press ‘change subscription’.
This will tell you which subscription you can upgrade/ downgrade to. Press confirm and these changes will be made.
If you purchase our 1 month subscription plan, you will be able to upgrade to the 3 month subscription planIf you purchase our 3 month subscription plan, you will be able to downgrade to the 1 month subscription plan.
You won’t be able to upgrade your 1 month or 3 month account to the academic year plan. If you want to get this limited time plan, you have to get it when you first sign up.

Is there a trial period for new students?
We don’t offer a trial period, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to access the materials.
No email is required and you can just check out our ‘free lessons’ which are small snippets into our courses.
If I forget to cancel my subscription, can I get refunded?
Unfortunately not! It works just like a Netflix subscription, it will automatically renew if not cancelled and this will be non-refundable (unless you’re the academic year plan as this is a one off payment).
Your renewal date is on the bottom of your dashboard so this will tell you when your subscription is due to renew
I just subscribed but everything appears locked. What do I do?
Don’t worry you do have access! Just log out and log back in and it should sort this.
This is because it has taken a little longer than usual for your bank to inform and verify to the website your payment. Rest assured, by logging out and back in it will help speed up this process and you’ll get instant access.

Where should I start if I've just bought The Lightup Hub?
Essay skills: go through the essay skill section and ensure you understand how to write a high – level analytical paragraph as this is important to improve any grade.
Revision section: think of which course you’re going to tackle first, visit the revision section and see the ‘how to write notes’ section. Find the course you’re going to study and find out how to write the best notes before you begin to study.
Choose your course: choose the course you’re weakest in. If it is literature or language, use the prompts below.

Where should I start on the literature courses?
Summaries: start by reading the summaries of each text to ensure you understand the plot
Context: watch/ read the context lessons and quiz yourself on the knowledge
Weakest character/ section: pick the character/ area you are weakest on in that course and work through the video/documents/ quizzes
Pick second weakest character/ section: repeat the same as above
Read the grade 9 vocabulary: now you’re familiar with your weaker areas, read through the grade 9 vocab sheets and see if you can begin to apply some of these words into your analysis/ notes
Complete Course: continue to work through other parts of the course
Model essays: read through the model essays to see an example of how to apply what you’re learning
Practice questions: attempt some practice questions
Other sections: complete the sections in the course you haven’t yet
Continuous learning: even when completed, revisit notes and re-take quizzes to refresh your memory
Where should I start on the language course?
Technique sheets: become familiar with a range of language and structure techniques from our technique sheets. These are important as you have to pick them out from memory in the language papers
Question 5: start with revising question 5’s for both papers. These are worth half the marks on each paper, so the most time should be dedicated to perfecting these.
Practice: after you’ve completed question 5, begin to practice past paper questions as provided
Grade 9 examples: compare your work to the grade 9 examples provided to see how you can improve
Reverse order: then work your way backwards through the paper. Go onto question 4 (second most important question in both papers) and then practice.
Repeat: do that with all the other questions
Which exam boards are the memberships form?
GCSE Texts: for the key GCSE texts, this can be used for all exam boards. The grade 9 analysis, sentence starters, key words and more can be used for all
English Language: for language, it is based around the AQA exam board but the tips for creative and transactional writing can be used for all
Revision: this can be used for all exam boards as it teaches all students who to write notes for each course and how to revise them (you can even use the revision techniques taught to help with other subjects too!)
